Say a prayer!
Ok, say a prayer! My husband's review is tomorrow. Every year he has worked with this particular company he has gotten a 3% bonus. That is the highest bonus they hand out. It means about $1500 after taxes for us if he gets this. I am soooo hoping he gets another 3% He will know tomorrow if he gets it..but we will not see the money for about 6-8 weeks. So say a prayer for him! This will help build our money to slam the credit card :) Well, it least that is what he said he would do with it. I hope he will do that along with our money over our $1000 ef fund. We will see!

Credit card bill makes me want to vomit!
Just got our new and improved credit card bill in the mail. Ugh..I so want to throw-up! We paid nearly $56.00 in interest for one month! I am really hoping to point this out to my husband when he comes home. I sooooo want to put everything we have on this and end it ASAP! Our card raised our rates from 12 ish to 14.24%. I am thinking we should see if we can find a transfer deal that is a better interest rate. Not sure where to begin on that...but I can't imagine we can not find a better deal somewhere!

State tax money here!
Our state tax refund came in the mail today! Yipee. It is not very much but it does look like we have a shot at getting our CC down to $3,500 or less. Right now we have decided to just pile it into our savings since we just made a payment to them. We will then throw in the Ebay money and any extra we can into the savings over the next few paychecks. Then when the next bill comes in we hope to slam it with a big ol payment of $500 or more.
We have one more possiblity of some extra money. My husband gets evaluated at work soon and for the past 6 years he has gotten a 3% bonus which amounts to about $1,500 after taxes. I can't wait to report exactly what we pay and exactly the CC debt. I think it is slightly more than $4,000. We have not charged anything since before Christmas...but I know we have just been making minimum payments while building the EF. I am just biting my nails on this one... I am so anxious to get that puppy gone!
I have a few more earning money ideas up my sleave...but I will share them as they come :)

$1,000 or $2,000 EF?
Most of us agree that $1000.00 Emergency fund seems low for true emergencies. I am tempted to save $2000.00 for our EF goal..just because I fear our washer and dryer may bite the dust this year. However, my husband can't stand the credit card. So I think we are simply going to make due with a $1000.00 goal until the $4,000 CC is gone.
With all the changes going on in the credit card world....I really fear ours changing. Our credit card is a MasterCard through our credit union. We have never had a fee and the interest rate is not huge, but not super low either. I think it is around 11 to 12%. So far we have received no letters stating they are raising the rates or charging us a carrying fee. But I fear the day they do! I am hoping since it is a credit union one that they won't do that. I also have a Kohls charge that I keep at 0 balance. I only use it cause you can get deals when you make purchase there. I have gotten 30% off deals. I never charge more than what I can immediately pay off with our cash clothes fund. But I will kick this card to the curb if they charge me a fee for having it. We also have a Kroger Card. It too has a 0 balance and we use it for gas now and then. But if I get a fee for having it...out she will go too!
Have any of you seen changes such as fees for your cards? What about store cards...like Kohls and Krogers?
Because of this fear...I am in agreement that we should try and get our CC gone and then build the EF up a little more. That way...if the fees come the cards can go!
